Elsser GmbH & Co. KG relies on the Christ VEGA in Welzheim

The VEGA roll over wash unit was developed specifically for wash centres and petrol stations and combines elegant design with high throughput. According to the manufacturer,the system saves resources by reducing energy and water consumption while minimising maintenance costs – an  economic advantage that directly benefits operators. The VEGA 2021 received  the Red Dot Design Award for its design, which honours its high-quality appearance and well-designed user interface. Thanks to a modulardesign principle, the equipment can be tailored precisely to the requirements of a location – from LED lighting and multimedia elements to  extended car care programmes.

In Welzheim, the combination of technology and showcasing is particularly  evident: The illuminated foam arch, the entrance lighting and the characteristic light modules of the VEGA immediately catch the eye and provide  clear orientation.  ‘Since the conversion, our customers need less assistance when entering,as the lighting provides safety,’ says Elsser. Even before  installation, people had specifically asked for this wash system after  viewing relevant videos online. The premium programme at the  location includes, among other things, nano wax care, which is particularly appreciated by regular customers. Seasonal highlights – such as underbody wash in winter – are specifically promoted to highlight the added value of the wash system.

For Andreas Elsser, visual and technical cleanliness is a decisive factor for success: ‘If the customer wants a clean car, the hall must also be clean.’ At the Welzheim site, a specially hired employee  takes care of the entire wash system, the wash boxes and the parking areas on a daily basis. The maintenance-friendly design of the VEGA supports this demand. In addition, Elsser attended a training course at Christ's main factory in Memmingen, where he learned technical details about the system and picked up practical tips for operating it.

The decision to purchase the new VEGA was made after six years of operating the previous system. The technology was under a lot of pressure because of high wash counts as well as increasing maintenance intervals made a new purchase advisable. At the same time, Elsser pursues a strategy of always providing his customers with the latest technology.He is also relying on Christ Wash Systems for future projects: Plans for another roll over wash unit are already in progress at the Schwäbisch Gmünd site. The company is also planning to install a new wash tunnel. ‘Of course, we also talked to the competition, but in the end, the decision was always positive for Christ,’ emphasises Elsser.
