This contact water counter replaces all previous mechanically designed water meters. Efficient machine operation becomes even more sure by use of these modern measuring methods.
In the past, the machine was not technically capable of monitoring the supply of fresh water. This made it necessary for the machine operator to continuously monitor the machine manually by routinely reading the fresh water level.
The operation status of the feed valve for fresh water was also incapable of being monitored. This allowed for uncontrolled, large amounts of fresh water flowing into recycled water circulation due to valve defects or the entry of dirt in valves.
Should the operator not read the water meter, then such an incident would first be noticed after several weeks i.e. months with disastrous results (fresh water costs) made noticeable on the billing by the water supplier.
The contact water counter, similar to the classic water meter, is capable of precisely measuring the supplied fresh water amount. The supplied fresh water amount can be calculated in relation to the prepared recycled water amount by means of the electronic sensor. This enables the recovered water proportion to be accessed. Should the limit value be exceeded by >20 %, then the FONTIS-5 machine control sends out a failure notice, which is then displayed on the roll-over unit ticket terminal in the cashier's office (cabelled model).
The operation status of the feed valve can be monitored through usage of this contact water counter and the machine control. Should the valve receive the command to close off the fresh water feed, then the measured fresh water amount is not to increase on the contact water counter. Should however water continue to be supplied, then a malfunction in the fresh water valve exists.
Should the feed valve for fresh water receive the command to open the fresh water feed, then the contact water counter expects the measured fresh water amount to increase. If this is not the case, then again a malfunction in the feed valve exists. In both of these described malfunctions, a corresponding failure notice is released in the FONTIS-5. The malfunction is also transferred in clear text, given the ticket system C-CAT with data cable is also used in the wash operation.
The advantages are an increasingly safe machine operation - there is no more danger of fresh water being uncontrollably supplied and in case the central fresh water valve experiences a malfunction, then the operator is immediately and automatically notified.
Routine reading of the fresh water can be comfortably executed on the LCD-Display of the FONITS-5 water recycling unit.
